Why we built this

Hidden Camera Detector started from a simple, common worry: when you check into a hotel or stay in a rental, you are trusting a space someone else set up. We wanted to give travelers a fast, honest way to check the rooms they don't control, using the phone already in their pocket.

How the detection method works, honestly

Our app focuses on what a phone can genuinely sense. Every camera needs a lens, and a lens reflects light back toward its source. By helping you spot those reflections and the infrared light that many night-vision cameras emit, the app makes suspicious spots easier to find during a careful physical sweep.

We are deliberate about what we do not claim. This app does not detect Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or radio signals; that requires separate RF hardware. We would rather be clear about our limits than overpromise.

A detection aid, not a guarantee

No app or method can promise that a room is completely free of recording devices. Hidden Camera Detector is a tool to help you check more thoroughly and feel more confident, used alongside a slow, deliberate inspection of the most common hiding spots.
